Many students joining GCDSS from primary schools are faced with many educational problems. Hence provision
of education guidance at GCDSS:

Assists our students to make informed decisions about their education. Students are helped to know the choices that have to be made, and determine whether the choice is between subjects, curricula, schools or colleges. They have to know subject combinations or options, what the subject involves in the classroom, available courses and where each course leads, the available colleges, admission requirements, and educational opportunities

Facilitates the smooth transition for our students from one class to the other, from secondary to post-secondary institutions, and to the world of work.

Helps students to cope with examination anxiety as the fear of failure and aspiration for highest grades are major sources of pressure among students.

Helps students to develop effective study habits. Students are assisted to improve their competence in reading, note-taking, and academic achievement.

Provides students with meaningful educational experiences. Students are able to relate the curriculum to occupational groups.
